Sonangol

 
Established in 1976, Sonangol (Sociedade Nacional de Combustíveis de Angola, E.P.) is the state owned company in charge of the oil sector in Angola. The enterprise is the sole concessionaire for exploration of oil and gas in the country. Sonangol is responsible for the exploration, production, manufacturing, transportation and marketing of hydrocarbons in Angola.
 
Sonangol also has activities in other sectors as, for instance: telecommunications, air transportation, medical services and real state. 
 
There are several foreign oil companies (public and private) present in Angola as operators or partners of Sonangol, such as: Total, Chevron, Petrobras, Esso, Repsol, Galp, Odebrecht Oil & Gas, among others.
